“When you feel the need to have the right person show up in your life, affirm: ‘I know the right person is arriving in divine order at precisely the perfect time.” — Wayne Dyer
Do you find yourself biting your tongue when you are in conversation with some people in your life?
Do you ever dread going to events and gatherings because there will be people there that you do not want to see?
Do the people in your life make you feel as if you are not as good, as smart, as worthy as they are?
Well, that was how I used to feel every day of my life!
I was surrounded by people who I did not enjoy. People who I considered to be my friends would often say rude and demeaning comments to me about me that I would not ever consider saying to them. They felt they were being ‘well-meaning’ in helping me to be a ‘better’ person.
And I put up with it!!
Why did I allow myself to be treated in such a poor way? Because I thought I was all those things those people told me and I wanted to be a ‘better’ person. So, I listened to them and did my best to change myself….even though it did not feel good to take their advice. However, I believed that they knew better than I did and so I did my best to change in the ways they suggested.
Until the day I discovered the concept of positive affirmations and speaking about myself in ways that are uplifting and honored my innate greatness. The more I practiced my affirmations, the more I began to appreciate myself, and the more I realized that the relationships I had attracted were destructive. They were not helping me to be a ‘better’ person…instead those people were attempting to make me more like them.
And, I did not want to be more like them!
So, now what was I to do?
Tell them I did not want to hang out with them anymore? I did not want to cause more tension than was already between us.
As I was exploring ways to release myself from the negative relationships I had attracted, I was fortunate to attract the Law of Attraction. I learned that we attract what we put our focus on.
And, I realized that I had been focusing on all the aspects of my friendships which were negative…rather than focusing on how I would like my friendships to be instead.
So, I began asking myself 3 Questions which transformed my life in the most wonderful ways.
The negative people in my life simply stopped contacting me. I did not have to have a conversation or a confrontation with all except one of my former friends. We just gradually grew further and further apart because I began attracting new friends who appreciated me just the way I am. The more time I spent with my new friends, the less time I had to see the people from my past.
So here are the 3 Questions I began to ask myself…and which I now ask every day of my life:
Question #1: What are the qualities, personality traits, and characteristics of the people I choose to have in my life?
When I put my focus on creating a clear and specific vision of the people who lift my spirits, are supportive of my goals, and who enjoy being with me – I am much more likely to attract them to me.
Question #2: What is the Most Important Thing in the World to Me?
When I put my focus on my deepest core value – I am much more likely to attract people who share that core value with me.
Question #3: Who AM I in my relationship with the people in my life?
When I put my focus on how I choose to feel, what I choose to be able to express, what I choose to accomplish, how I choose to participate – in my relationships – then I am much more likely to attract people who make it easy for me to co-create that type of relationship with them.
I call these 3 Questions my ‘Strategic Attraction Plan.’
Attraction Master Monika Greczek shared with me her experience of activating the Law of Attraction using these same 3 questions:
“I was in the process of attracting a Nail Technician, Plumber and a pedicure chair. I wrote a Strategic Attraction Plan to attract the perfect Nail Technician by listing all the personality traits and characteristics and when I intended for her to start. I also wrote one for the perfect Plumber and someone who would be selling a pedicure chair. My goal was to attract all of them by August 31st. On August 26th, I attracted all three. I received a phone call about the pedicure chair in the colors that I wrote down (Black sink with Mocha chair), less than 3 years old, in perfect working order, price fits in my budget (less than $500.00, and then I declared it to be $100.00) and close by to pick up. The pedicure chair I attracted is all what I listed for only $100.00! I contacted the Plumber and told him everything I requested and when and where. He agreed. Finally the Nail Technician came in for an interview and I told her everything I expected from her, including the days, times, duties, products, and so forth. She also agreed and will be starting next week.”
If this sounds too good to be true, I invite you to allow yourself the possibility that these 3 questions can work for you, too.
It is very easy to just ask yourself to answer the questions as clearly and specifically as you can. Then, watch to see what you start attracting and what changes begin to occur in your life.
Just remember to focus ONLY on what you choose to attract and be as specific as possible. Your list of answers will eventually be quite long…and the longer it is, the more people you will have in your life who match those answers!
