This feeling begins with thoughts, worries and concerns, such as:
- Will there be enough money to buy the presents I want to give?
- How can I not gain any more weight during the holidays?
- Why do I let my family make me feel bad about myself?
Since feeling badly about our self begins with a thought – we can easily feel good about our self by thinking a different thought. Here’s a few that can help us feel good….
To begin feeling better and then great about our self…which makes us more ‘attractive’ to others, let’s first remember to keep our eye steadily on our greatest goals (what I call our Be-All, End-All goals or B-All for short). When we keep our goals in mind and at the heart of all we do then we can make choices that make us feel better about our self.
Let’s also surround ourselves with positive people…people I call ‘chi-lifters’…those who choose to feel good about their self. It’s the reason why I love hosting my ‘Chi-To-Be! We can also stop ‘shoulding’ on our self and instead ‘choose’ powerfully what we will and will not do based upon what will move us closer or further away from the achievement of our goals.
We can powerfully choose whether or not to eat a tempting treat at a holiday party based upon whether eating that treat will move us closer or further away from our greatest goals.
Or, we can powerfully choose whether or not to attend a family gathering based upon whether spending time with our family will move us closer or further away from our greatest goals.
And, we can powerfully choose how much money to spend on gifts depending upon the amount that will support us in moving closer to our goals.
The more we support our self in moving closer to our own goals, the better we feel about our self. And, the better we feel about our self, the easier it is to continue to feel good about our self…during the holidays and every day of the year!
Today, take time to consider what are the greatest goals you intend to achieve in 2016 and consider how you are already moving towards the achievement of those goals!
