So many people feel that the only way to achieve their goals is to keep push, push, pushing their way to the top.
I used to be one of them.
Each day would be filled with as many activities as I could cram in before I collapsed in to bed from exhaustion.
Back then, I prided myself on ‘beating the clock’ by accomplishing as much as possible before time ran out.
And, it did eventually run out!
I was unable to sustain my success. Because I was not eating well, my physical body ran out of energy and my mental creativity ran dry. Because I was not loving myself, I became resentful of what I was giving to others.
Under doctor’s orders, I was put on complete bed rest…which lasted 2 years…to
replenish, re-nourish, and recuperate.
It was difficult for me at the beginning of this period because I felt like I was being lazy and not being of service to others.
One of the few enjoyments of my recuperation process was listening to music…and I became aware of how a song is composed of both notes and rest stops…and how the music is created by the spaces between the notes.
I realized that I was experiencing my own rest stop in the symphony of my life.
As I gave myself fully to the process of resting, I began receiving the inspirations and importance of the 9th Chi-To-Be! Energy Surge…’Re-Charging Your Inner Chi.’
I realized that, as much as it appeared I was doing ‘nothing,’ I was actually doing the most important work of all. I was creating a beautiful harmony between doing and resting in order to keep my energy fully charged to be able to attain and sustain success!
When I stopped resisting the process of resting, I began to recover quickly. That was 8 years ago.
Now, I schedule rest stops in-between each meeting, phone call, social media projects and every other activity I have each day to ensure my life continues to be a beautiful symphony of productivity.
This week, I invite you to schedule short rest stops in-between each of your activities so your life is a beautiful composition of energy in harmony.
Nourish yourself, have fun, do something completely un-related to the task just accomplished, or quietly reflect on your day and receive inspiration of how to do what’s next with greater ease and joy for greater success.
