Can Your Thoughts Be More Powerful?

An old Chinese proverb captures the power of our thinking in shaping our lives:

Sow a thought and reap an act;
Sow an act and reap a habit;
Sow a habit and reap a character;
Sow a character and reap a destiny.
 

Can Your Thoughts Be More Powerful?

 

There is a real possibility that…I AM thinking powerfully positive thoughts.
 

Jesus said that if we only had truth faith the size of a mustard seed, we could actually move a mountain with that faith.
 

There have been many people who had great faith and belief that something that had never existed before could be brought into being. People like Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, the Wright Brothers, Steve Jobs and even Ada Lovelace — the world’s first computer programmer who wrote programs before anyone had even built a computer.
 

Creating powerful thoughts begins with what neuroscientists call “neuroplasticity” the ability of our brains to change our synaptic wiring. This means we are able to change our point of view…no matter what you currently believe. *wink*
 

We have all been given the gift of being powerful creators of our own consciousness. What we think about continuously is what we start to believe. What we believe is what we manifest.
 

Scientists have proven that our expressions and behaviors are simply self-fulfilling prophesies of what we have thought over and over again. The more we think the same thoughts, the more new experiences simply serve to validate our existing way of seeing the world – we keep attracting the same thing we expect to see.
 

If we expect life to be hard based on our past experiences and this is what we continue to think about, then we will continue to attract experiences that support the belief that life is hard.
 

The good news is that we can just as easily change our life by changing our thoughts. For example, the more we create healthy patterns like eating right, exercising, getting enough sleep, and practicing good self-care, these are the thoughts that we begin to think automatically.
 

When beginning to change our thoughts it is important to be vigilant at noticing what we are actually thinking…what we say to and about our self, what we say and think about others…in our mind. Since our thoughts are so quiet, we may not notice just how often we think the same negative or limiting thoughts throughout each and every day.
 

The best way to ensure we are thinking new and positive thoughts is to first write them down…get them out of our head and onto paper…so we can read them continuously.
 

It is also very important to write these new thoughts in this way, “There is a real possibility that (fill in the new, positive thought or intention) so that the mind can begin to accept the new thoughts in a gentle way. Otherwise, the mind will immediately say, ‘That new thought is not true,” will reject it, and will again think the old, limiting and negative thoughts which have become so comfortable to think.
