“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, “What! You, too?” I thought I was the only one.” — C. S. Lewis
Am I the only one who makes commitments to myself and then forgets those commitments almost as soon as I make them? Probably not.
I believe that is why God created us with the desire to form friendships with people who support us to achieve our goals!
And, it took me quite a long time to learn how to attract true friendships!
I was disappointed many times in “friendships’ I had attracted. I would discover they would say one thing to my face and then talk about me behind my back.
When I had something to celebrate, they would find something negative to say to lessen my enthusiasm.
Rather than be accountable for their own actions, they would choose instead to talk about other people.
Spending time with them lowered my energy rather than raise it.
The people I now consider to be my friends are those who I tell about my goals and dreams. They are the people who remind me of those goals and dreams when I let life get in the way and I feel lost and confused and I forget my commitments to myself.
They are the people I choose to help remember their goals and dreams when they let life get in the way and they feel lost and confused and forget their commitments to their self.
My transformation began when I chose to feel I deserved to attract people who I could depend upon to be uplifting and supportive.
I chose to believe that such people existed in the world.
I used the Strategic Attraction Planning Process* to create a visual picture of the personality traits, qualities, virtues and talents of the people I would want to have as my friends…or as I call them now…my ‘Accountability Partnerships.’
Why do I use that term?
Because the primary quality I want all my friends to have/be is someone who is chooses to be Accountable for their own actions and beliefs…for achieving specific goals…and for receiving support to achieve those goals in exchange for supporting me to achieve my goals.
That’s what makes us Accountability Partners!
This Partnership is so much stronger than a friendship because we not only have shared interests…we also have a bond which commits us to have deep, fear-busting, spirit-lifting, prosperity-boosting conversations.
We have a bond that is based in kindness and generosity of spirit rather than ‘niceness’. In other words, we tell the truth to each other about where we see each other may be stopped by fear or worn-out beliefs and we lovingly hold the hand of the other person as they walk into their transformation.
And, we keep each other’s confidences…as if they are our own!
My Personal Accountability Partners assist me in utilizing the Chi-To-Be! Energy Surges™ to re-energize my energy when it begins to wane so I can stay in the highest vibration of The Attraction Zone.
They listen to ensure that I speak only positive encouragement to myself.
They check-in with me to ensure I stay on track to accomplishing the intentional activities I schedule for myself to accomplish towards my goals.
